Description:
Two-figure composition. Jesus Christ is seated near a round well of stone, to the right, with his right hand in a blessing gesture. The head is in the left profile. He is dressed in a dark red chiton, on his knees - a blue-green hymen. To the left, in full-length, a young woman in a ¾ turn to the right, wearing a long drapery chiton with wide sleeves and a greenish belt at the waist. On her head is a white ornamented cloth with tassels. The left hand is near the chest, the right hand is lowered. At the woman's feet is a jug with two handles. In the background, on the right, there is a hill with trees, on the left - a mountain with a fortress. In the center, near the river bank - 3 figures. In the distance are light buildings. The sky is ocher-pink. Below, on the right, is an inscription indicating the source of the story by John: d. 4 с. 26.
At the bottom and top of the board are deep cracks, horizontal peeling of paint 2×8, on the background between the figures, loss of paint. On the hands of Christ, the lacquer coating is cracked. The base of the icon consists of 3 boards and two figured mortises. Near the upper edge there are 4 nail holes, on the right, near the edge, a 5 cm pothole. Expert opinion of 20.12.1994 (UNDRC).

Description of the incident location
It was opened on May 27, 1978, in the former City Hall building, an architectural monument of the early 20th century. As of 2022 (before the robbery), the museum's collection included more than 13 thousand works of art and was one of the most interesting museum collections in Ukraine. It includes works of Ukrainian and foreign painting, graphics, sculpture, and decorative and applied arts. From October 31 to November 4, 2022, the Kherson Art Museum was looted by the russian occupiers, and more than 10,000 of its most valuable exhibits were stolen. The cargo was sent to Crimea, and the works (all or part of them) ended up in the Simferopol Central Museum of Tavrida. It is unknown whether everything is still there.
