Description:
A multi-figure composition. In the center, in the foreground, a kneeling man wearing glasses with a beard and mustache is depicted in a ¾ turn to the left, making a speech. The right hand, bent at the elbow, is raised to chest level with the palm facing up. He is wearing an overcoat and a cap. Around him are people listening attentively. On the left side is a slogan with the inscription: "Lenin is the best friend of the Ukrainian people". In the background is a train in perspective, shortened, decorated with slogans and an inscription: "Instructional and propaganda train of the All-Union Central Executive Committee named after Lenin". On the roof of the train are three armed soldiers listening to a speaker. At the bottom left is a pencil inscription: "Arrival in Ukraine of Mikhail Kalinin at the head of the Lenin agitation train in 1920". Lower right (autolithograph). To the right below the image is a pencil inscription: "O. Dovhal 1953". In the center below is an inscription in ink: "O.Dovhal. 1953г. In the right corner in pencil: "Dovhal O.M. Arrival in Ukraine of Mikhail Kalinin at the head of the agitation train named after Lenin. reg. 24168 inv.10953".

Description of the incident location
It was opened on May 27, 1978, in the former City Hall building, an architectural monument of the early 20th century. As of 2022 (before the robbery), the museum's collection included more than 13 thousand works of art and was one of the most interesting museum collections in Ukraine. It includes works of Ukrainian and foreign painting, graphics, sculpture, and decorative and applied arts. From October 31 to November 4, 2022, the Kherson Art Museum was looted by the russian occupiers, and more than 10,000 of its most valuable exhibits were stolen. The cargo was sent to Crimea, and the works (all or part of them) ended up in the Simferopol Central Museum of Tavrida. It is unknown whether everything is still there.
