Description:
Against the background of a fence, almost full-length on the right, a young man in profile to the left, turning his torso ¾ to the left. His hair is combed into an oblique parting, the strands falling on his forehead, he is dressed in a white embroidered shirt and cassock. To his left is a generational image of a man sitting with his head tilted in profile to the right, his torso ¾ to the right. He holds a piece of paper in his left outstretched hand, and holds a folder with sheets of paper on his lap with his right bent hand. He is wearing a white shirt with a bow tie, a black suit, a cloak and a wide-brimmed hat. Under the print in graphite pencil on the left: "Meeting of Taras Shevchenko with Soshenko", on the right signature of the author and the date 1961. In the lower right corner in graphite pencil: "G.S. Shevchenko with Soshenko. p 25258 in 11848 48.3 x 40". Horizontal crease in the lower edge of the sheet and a tear.

Description of the incident location
It was opened on May 27, 1978, in the former City Hall building, an architectural monument of the early 20th century. As of 2022 (before the robbery), the museum's collection included more than 13 thousand works of art and was one of the most interesting museum collections in Ukraine. It includes works of Ukrainian and foreign painting, graphics, sculpture, and decorative and applied arts. From October 31 to November 4, 2022, the Kherson Art Museum was looted by the russian occupiers, and more than 10,000 of its most valuable exhibits were stolen. The cargo was sent to Crimea, and the works (all or part of them) ended up in the Simferopol Central Museum of Tavrida. It is unknown whether everything is still there.
