Description:
Against the background of a tall brownish-gray rock in the foreground, among the embankments, is a road that runs diagonally left from the lower right corner, curves to the right in the depths of the composition and makes a left turn. On the road to the left, at the bend, is a truck. To the right are three more trucks. On the tops of the rocks to the left and right are thin trees. Power wires stretch up from the lower left corner to the right. The color is based on a combination of purple, gray, brown, pink, and blue tones. The lower right is painted in red: "V. Popkov 61". On the back - On the canvas at the top right in brown paint: "Popkov V.E. 1961 "Rocks". From the series "The Hangar Receded" 150x100". On the stretcher at the top in black paint: "42-2 DVSkhSSR", on the bottom of the stretcher there is a sticker of the Exhibition Directorate of the USSR: "1259 Popkov V.E. Sir. The Rocks" and a sticker of the Union of Artists of the USSR Exhibition Directorate: "03683 150 x 100 cm, Moscow. Popkov V.E. Rocks". In the lower left corner there is a paint fall.

Description of the incident location
It was opened on May 27, 1978, in the former City Hall building, an architectural monument of the early 20th century. As of 2022 (before the robbery), the museum's collection included more than 13 thousand works of art and was one of the most interesting museum collections in Ukraine. It includes works of Ukrainian and foreign painting, graphics, sculpture, and decorative and applied arts. From October 31 to November 4, 2022, the Kherson Art Museum was looted by the russian occupiers, and more than 10,000 of its most valuable exhibits were stolen. The cargo was sent to Crimea, and the works (all or part of them) ended up in the Simferopol Central Museum of Tavrida. It is unknown whether everything is still there.
