Description:
The Mother of God in a dark red mafia, from under which a red chiton is visible, holds a baby in her left hand in a composition of "tender love". Christ wears a dark green chiton and pink vestment, painted with a thin light ochre assist. The arms and hands are ocher white on dark brown sanker. The halos are golden with red outline. The figures are outlined in black. In the margins are figures: on the left - of St. Hilirion, on the right - of the Great Martyr Barbara. The edges of the fields are united by red and black stripes. On the back is a label with typewritten text: "SVERDL RFO 850 V - 7436"; ink 252/3. Second label: handwritten in chemical ink "Museum 2731. Museum. Fonds. In the middle ochre - 21 cards, in the upper right corner - ochre - illegible word. The dowels are cut into the counter, fresh traces of checkerboard across the board. On the upper and lower parts of the board - along the horizontal cut - there are soil deposits.

Description of the incident location
It was opened on May 27, 1978, in the former City Hall building, an architectural monument of the early 20th century. As of 2022 (before the robbery), the museum's collection included more than 13 thousand works of art and was one of the most interesting museum collections in Ukraine. It includes works of Ukrainian and foreign painting, graphics, sculpture, and decorative and applied arts. From October 31 to November 4, 2022, the Kherson Art Museum was looted by the russian occupiers, and more than 10,000 of its most valuable exhibits were stolen. The cargo was sent to Crimea, and the works (all or part of them) ended up in the Simferopol Central Museum of Tavrida. It is unknown whether everything is still there.
