Description:
A view of the square formed by two buildings. On the left is a three-story building with large arched windows on the ground floor, the façade is highlighted by a pediment. On the right is a five-story building with a red roof. Behind them is the church dome and bell tower. The dome and spire of the bell tower are covered in green. The dome with a lantern on a tall gray-brown drum has narrow arched windows; at the foot and under the dome it is bounded by a cornice, its corners are marked with lobes. The bell tower is tiered and made of dark brownish-gray brick with arched windows. There are human figures on the square. The sky is blue with clouds. In the lower right corner is the author's signature in black paint. On the back, on the upper stretcher bar in the center, there is a sticker with data in Czech. On the left in blue pencil 478/67g. auth. on the right red stamp: 3954. On the left side bar of the stretcher in graphite pencil: 276/64 auth. On the right - 376/63 auth. Description of the incident location
It was opened on May 27, 1978, in the former City Hall building, an architectural monument of the early 20th century. As of 2022 (before the robbery), the museum's collection included more than 13 thousand works of art and was one of the most interesting museum collections in Ukraine. It includes works of Ukrainian and foreign painting, graphics, sculpture, and decorative and applied arts. From October 31 to November 4, 2022, the Kherson Art Museum was looted by the russian occupiers, and more than 10,000 of its most valuable exhibits were stolen. The cargo was sent to Crimea, and the works (all or part of them) ended up in the Simferopol Central Museum of Tavrida. It is unknown whether everything is still there.
