Description:
Spring landscape. The Dnipro River. In the foreground on the right is a part of the island with sparse shrubbery. In the center and to the right is the light greenish-blue water of the strait. Near the shore - white foam. In the background, the left and central parts are occupied by an image of an island with dense trees; the ground is grayish-ochre, the trees are brownish-purple. To the right is a gray-blue river and a blue-ochre far bank. The sky is light blue. At the bottom left is the author's signature and date: "G. Kurnakov, 67". On the cardboard lining at the top is the inscription: "Collection of Peter Matveyevich Elistratov (Saransk)". Signature on the left: "P. Elistratov", inscription on the right: "In early spring in Gidropark, 1967. Below is an inscription: "Kurnakov G.V. (30.03.1887-20.10.1977, Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR. In early spring in Hydropark, 1967, c., m, 22x31 cm". Slight warping of the cardboard. Everywhere and small gaps of primed cardboard.

Description of the incident location
It was opened on May 27, 1978, in the former City Hall building, an architectural monument of the early 20th century. As of 2022 (before the robbery), the museum's collection included more than 13 thousand works of art and was one of the most interesting museum collections in Ukraine. It includes works of Ukrainian and foreign painting, graphics, sculpture, and decorative and applied arts. From October 31 to November 4, 2022, the Kherson Art Museum was looted by the russian occupiers, and more than 10,000 of its most valuable exhibits were stolen. The cargo was sent to Crimea, and the works (all or part of them) ended up in the Simferopol Central Museum of Tavrida. It is unknown whether everything is still there.
