Description:
Crimean landscape with a high horizon line. In the foreground, in a lowland, among yellowish-green trees, there are one- and two-story houses, to the right is a green mountain and the sea shore. In the background is the azure sea. The sky is grayish-blue. The color is brownish-terracotta-green-blue. On the reverse, upper left: "Kyiv-21, Iv. Marianenko, 14, apartment 28 "Kherson Art Museum named after A. Shovkunenko" as a gift from the author 19.09.88. Babentsov V.V.". Top right: "Babentsov Viktor Volodymyrovych 1921". In the middle: "Beyond Ayu-Dag c. m. 70x22 1979" Series Crimea ".
Condition: cardboard warping. Nail holes: 4 along the top edge, 2 on the left, 2 on the right, 1 on the bottom. Along the left and right edges are scuffs and paint peeling.

Description of the incident location
It was opened on May 27, 1978, in the former City Hall building, an architectural monument of the early 20th century. As of 2022 (before the robbery), the museum's collection included more than 13 thousand works of art and was one of the most interesting museum collections in Ukraine. It includes works of Ukrainian and foreign painting, graphics, sculpture, and decorative and applied arts. From October 31 to November 4, 2022, the Kherson Art Museum was looted by the russian occupiers, and more than 10,000 of its most valuable exhibits were stolen. The cargo was sent to Crimea, and the works (all or part of them) ended up in the Simferopol Central Museum of Tavrida. It is unknown whether everything is still there.
