Landscape with a high horizon line. In the foreground, in the centre, there is a grey stone paved road that goes deep into the composition. Along the road to the right is a railway track with two brown carriages. To the right, near the pier on the quiet surface of the river, there is a river tram and two barges, the image of which is cut off by the right edge of the canvas. Along the road to the left are telegraph poles, a one-storey house, two green and brown wooden benches, and human figures. To the left is a railway track, a wagon loaded with timber. In the background, in the left part of the composition, there are rows of one-storey houses with brown roofs and a church. On the horizon in the central and right parts of the composition is the opposite bank of the river, overgrown with shrubs and trees. The sky is grey-blue with white wispy clouds. At the bottom left in brown paint is the author's inscription: "Г. Сергєєв. 1925 р. 76 р. РЕЧ. ПРИ." In the right central part of the composition, in the image of the river, there is a vertical break in the canvas. There are scratches in the lower left part of the composition.

Description of the incident location
It was opened on May 27, 1978, in the former City Hall building, an architectural monument of the early 20th century. As of 2022 (before the robbery), the museum's collection included more than 13 thousand works of art and was one of the most interesting museum collections in Ukraine. It includes works of Ukrainian and foreign painting, graphics, sculpture, and decorative and applied arts. From October 31 to November 4, 2022, the Kherson Art Museum was looted by the russian occupiers, and more than 10,000 of its most valuable exhibits were stolen. The cargo was sent to Crimea, and the works (all or part of them) ended up in the Simferopol Central Museum of Tavrida. It is unknown whether everything is still there.
