Description:
In the center of the composition is a tall brown clay pot with a low neck, to the right and left of it are two bundles of poppies. In the foreground are three eggs. In the background on the left is a tall, narrow pot, the neck of which is tied with a white cloth; on the right is a tall mug. In the right and left parts of the composition are eggplants and green capsicum. The background is white-gray-brown drapery. "Platonov, ‘73" ("Платонов, 73") in black paint on the bottom left. On the reverse side - top right in black ink "Anatolii Heorhiiovych Platonov, born in 1927, Still life, 70x65 kh.t. Kherson city, Ushakova, 51" ("Платонов Анатолій Георгійович р.н. 1927, Натюрморт, 70х65 х.т. м. Херсон, Ушакова, 51"). The stretcher is closed. Description of the incident location
It was opened on May 27, 1978, in the former City Hall building, an architectural monument of the early 20th century. As of 2022 (before the robbery), the museum's collection included more than 13 thousand works of art and was one of the most interesting museum collections in Ukraine. It includes works of Ukrainian and foreign painting, graphics, sculpture, and decorative and applied arts. From October 31 to November 4, 2022, the Kherson Art Museum was looted by the russian occupiers, and more than 10,000 of its most valuable exhibits were stolen. The cargo was sent to Crimea, and the works (all or part of them) ended up in the Simferopol Central Museum of Tavrida. It is unknown whether everything is still there.
