Description:
Filling the house. In the center is a wooden bed covered with a striped sheet. There are two figurines on it: a sitting peasant woman and a girl lying across the bed. The girl's head is on the woman's lap, the peasant woman has a three-toed cat's comb in her hands, she is taking insects out of the child. The peasant woman is wearing a gray-burgundy sweater over a white blouse, a colorful sundress, and a yellow apron. On the head is a scarf, on the feet are black and pink striped stockings and boots. There is a speck near the woman's feet, and a little to the left is a blue tub. On the left is a large barrel covered with burlap and a green watering can. On the lower right, the author's signature in dark brown paint: "M. Ignatiev" ("М.Ігнатьєв"). The stretcher is sliding, the edges are hemmed. At the bottom, in the center, there is a vertical fold, along the lower and left edges, dotted scree.

Description of the incident location
It was opened on May 27, 1978, in the former City Hall building, an architectural monument of the early 20th century. As of 2022 (before the robbery), the museum's collection included more than 13 thousand works of art and was one of the most interesting museum collections in Ukraine. It includes works of Ukrainian and foreign painting, graphics, sculpture, and decorative and applied arts. From October 31 to November 4, 2022, the Kherson Art Museum was looted by the russian occupiers, and more than 10,000 of its most valuable exhibits were stolen. The cargo was sent to Crimea, and the works (all or part of them) ended up in the Simferopol Central Museum of Tavrida. It is unknown whether everything is still there.
