Description:
In the foreground, diagonally from right to left, there is a steep river bank overgrown with dark and light green grass with small yellow flowers. On the left, there is a narrow path that rises up and hides behind a group of brown trees growing on the top of the hill. From right to left to the center and to the right, there is a blue ribbon of the river that goes beyond the horizon. The opposite bank of the river is gentle, sandy. Small buildings are visible in the distance. The sky is greenish-blue with rare gray clouds. On the left, a signature in burgundy paint: “January 1886 Orlovskyi” (“Январь 1886 г. Орловский”). The work is matted. Preservation and restoration activities done in the museum 08-15.10.2013 by artists-restorers of the Kyiv National Research and Restoration Center of Ukraine.

Description of the incident location
It was opened on May 27, 1978, in the former City Hall building, an architectural monument of the early 20th century. As of 2022 (before the robbery), the museum's collection included more than 13 thousand works of art and was one of the most interesting museum collections in Ukraine. It includes works of Ukrainian and foreign painting, graphics, sculpture, and decorative and applied arts. From October 31 to November 4, 2022, the Kherson Art Museum was looted by the russian occupiers, and more than 10,000 of its most valuable exhibits were stolen. The cargo was sent to Crimea, and the works (all or part of them) ended up in the Simferopol Central Museum of Tavrida. It is unknown whether everything is still there.
