Description:
The horizon line is high. From the foreground, two dirt roads run diagonally from left to right. On the roads, a pair of peasants are walking. On the peasant woman on the right is a white blouse and a red-brown skirt; on the peasant a dark brown scroll. On the peasant woman depicted on the left is a white scroll with a dark gray skirt, a scarf on her head. On the peasant a dark gray scroll, worn over a dark gray shirt. On his head is a yellow hat. In the background, a horse harnessed to a cart with two figures of people. Movement towards the viewer. Beyond the horizon line is a row of low buildings with gable roofs, with bright figures of people in front of them. The sky is grayish-blue. On the bottom right, the author's signature in red-brown paint: “A.Kivshenko ‘79” (“А.Кившенко 79 г.”). Traces of yellowed varnish in the center of the composition. The artwork is matted. At the top right, in the image of the sky, there are two dark brown dots.

Description of the incident location
It was opened on May 27, 1978, in the former City Hall building, an architectural monument of the early 20th century. As of 2022 (before the robbery), the museum's collection included more than 13 thousand works of art and was one of the most interesting museum collections in Ukraine. It includes works of Ukrainian and foreign painting, graphics, sculpture, and decorative and applied arts. From October 31 to November 4, 2022, the Kherson Art Museum was looted by the russian occupiers, and more than 10,000 of its most valuable exhibits were stolen. The cargo was sent to Crimea, and the works (all or part of them) ended up in the Simferopol Central Museum of Tavrida. It is unknown whether everything is still there.
