Description:
Interior of the room. In the center by the wall is a bed covered with a purple-gray sheet. On the bed on the left is a full-length image of a seated man with a 3/4 turn of the figure and head to the right. He leans on the bed with his right hand, his left bent at the elbow lies on the table, his legs are wide apart. He is dressed in gray pants, a white shirt, and a dark greenish-gray vest. The table is covered with a white tablecloth, and on the left are dishes. There are two chairs in the room. In the left corner on the wall are icons. Behind the wide window are bright green foliage and part of a pink roof. On the right, it is illegible from the bottom: "K. Kostandi" ("К.Костанди"). On the back, at the top in the middle, a handwritten inscription in ink "Property of Hanna Kyriiakivna Kostandi Odesa; Korolenka 5-a" ("Власність Ганни Кирияківни Костанді Одеса; Короленкр 5 а"). The work is enveloped. Large-cut craquelure. On the left – a horizontal crack – 12 cm. In the upper right corner, there are deposits of paint. In the lower left corner, there are two scratches.

Description of the incident location
It was opened on May 27, 1978, in the former City Hall building, an architectural monument of the early 20th century. As of 2022 (before the robbery), the museum's collection included more than 13 thousand works of art and was one of the most interesting museum collections in Ukraine. It includes works of Ukrainian and foreign painting, graphics, sculpture, and decorative and applied arts. From October 31 to November 4, 2022, the Kherson Art Museum was looted by the russian occupiers, and more than 10,000 of its most valuable exhibits were stolen. The cargo was sent to Crimea, and the works (all or part of them) ended up in the Simferopol Central Museum of Tavrida. It is unknown whether everything is still there.
