Yuri Babaev

Hydrographic vessel of the E35.G project, built as part of the federal project "Development of the Northern Sea Route" of the state programme "Development of the transport system" for the needs of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Hydrographic Enterprise" (Rosatom State Corporation).
FSUE Hydrographic Enterprise is the owner and operator of one of the largest dredging fleets in russia, the only organisation in russia that creates and provides navigation information for the Northern Sea Route, mainly for large oil and LNG tankers, on the most difficult areas and routes. Hydrographic Enterprise has provided dredging services for a number of major energy projects in russia, including the Vostok oil project.
In May 2023, USA imposed sanctions on four research vessels of the Hydrographic Enterprise, including the "Yuri Babaev", as part of the restrictions on entities involved in expanding russia's future electricity production and export capabilities in strategic industries.
