As part of the 'Agreement on Sister City Relations and Cooperation between the Government of St. Petersburg and the Mariupol City Administration,' in 2023, reception of groups of schoolchildren and accompanying persons from Mariupol, as well as from Donetsk, Yasinuvata, Makiivka, Horlivka, and the village of Bahatopillia in Donetsk Oblast, was organized (according to the annual report of the Commissioner for Children's Rights in St. Petersburg for 2023).
