Directly involved in the resettlement of illegally displaced Ukrainian citizens (so-called “refugees”) in the Voronezh region. Thus, according to information from open sources, on June 03, 2022, an expanded meeting of the Expert Council under the Ombudsman in the Voronezh region was held under the chairmanship of Kanishchev, which, in particular, discussed the issues of “meeting the needs of foreign citizens who left the territory of the so-called ‘L/DPR’ and Ukraine on an emergency basis and arrived in the Voronezh region”. As of 03.06.2022, 73 temporary accommodation centers have been deployed in Voronezh region, housing 2021 people from Donetsk and Luhansk regions and more than 1700 Ukrainian citizens from other regions (Kharkiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia), including children. Russian officials deliberately mix the categories of “organized migrants” (actually deported) and people who deliberately moved to the territory of the russian federation of their own free will.
